Pesticide Safety Education program for Private Pesticide Applicators
Monday, April 6, 2009; 1:30 PM Central Time
Cherry County Courthouse meeting room

This will be the last private pesticide training we offer in Cherry County this year, so if you need a private pesticide license, or need to renew your existing one, don’t forget to be there next Monday. If for some reason you can’t make it, there is a self-study option for obtaining or renewing your Private Pesticide Applicators license. It is a little more expensive, and it’s going to work your brain a little harder, but at least it’s available if you miss the training.

Chemigation Recertification training
Tuesday, April 14, 2009; 1:30 pm CT, Cherry County Extension office meeting room

A Chemigation applicator is someone who applies fertilizers or chemicals through an irrigation system. Chemigators must be licensed. If you need a Chemigation applicator license, or you hold a license expires this year, you need to attend this class.

Did you know that UNL’s popular Market Journal and Backyard Farmer television programs are both available on the internet? If you get your television from a satellite, chances are you may have never seen these award winning shows. But now you can. Just go to marketjournal.unl.edu and backyardfarmer.unl.edu and download the latest shows. They are also available on iTunes, just search the iTunes store for either market journal or backyard farmer.

Alternatively, I’ll give you the links to both programs in the Monday Extension Report script in the news section at your local extension home page, cherry.unl.edu.

As always, you can contact the extension office at 402-376-1850 for more information on any of the things I’ve covered.
